My jewelry uses materials including dyed or natural leather, woods, shells, natural gemstones and crystals, artisan glass, recycled glass, non-tarnish metals as well as other base metals that will take on a beautiful “antique” look over time. Treated with care, your handmade jewelry should last a long time.

Copper Jewelry
Copper is a metal that will patina over time, meaning, it will lose its bright shine and instead adopt an”antique” appearance. This natural occurrence is appealing to most people. Polishing copper regularly, helps keep your copper jewelry brighter longer.
Non-Tarnish Wire Wrapping
The wires I use for wrapping are tarnish resistant coated copper wire. This means the base wires will keep their color for longer period of time as long as they are well cared for.
Base Metals
Many of the findings (metal accents) that I use are composed of base metals, also known as, non-precious metals such as copper, zinc, nickel and brass. Base metals will tarnish or “antique” over time. I also use plated metals which tarnish more slowly due to the coatings placed on the metals, however, these coatings will diminish over time as well. This is simply the nature of these metals coming into contact with skin, oils and moisture in the air.
Cleaning Your Jewelry
Polish your jewelry with a soft polishing cloth. Do not use anything coarse as it may scratch some gemstones, glass and metals. It is a good idea to gently wipe jewelry clean of body oils after wearing, especially if you applied lotions, perfumes, etc. prior to putting on your jewelry.
Certain materials cannot get wet so knowing which stones and metals can handle water and cleansers is key. Please contact me with questions.
Thank you!
